Beginner Web Development:
Awaken Your Inner Coder
Course Description
Get up and running building your first websites! Our project-based approach teaches you how to design and build websites using the same coding languages implemented by professional software developers (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery). By the end of this course, you will have a comprehensive understanding of Web Development utilizing the tech industry’s best practices. Students will leave ready to build their own websites in HTML, style them with CSS, and make their sites interactive using jQuery & JavaScript!

Prerequisite:
None! If you’ve never done any coding, we’ll get you up and running quickly! If you do have experience coding or are a returning Codebug student, that’s fine too. Our 2021 curriculum is brand new, and our small class sizes combined with lesson extensions ensure that everyone is challenged.
Supplies Needed:
A computer (MacBook, PC, Chromebook – any will do) with access to the internet. We’ll be using Zoom for our virtual class, so having a webcam, microphone, and a quiet place will help! We’ll also be sending (snail mail) you a binder with some supplies for our course.
Intermediate Web Development –
Entrepreneurship
Course Description
Dive into the wonderful world of web development for entrepreneurship. You will spend time tackling interesting coding projects (using HTML, CSS, & JavaScript) to solve problems just like you would at a startup! In this collaborative course, students will not only enhance their coding skills, but also work on crafting pitches, product management by prioritizing tasks on scrum boards, and building out MVPs (Minimum Viable Products). This course allows students to weave together web development skills and entrepreneurial drive, turning ideas into reality!

Course Description
Take your web development skills to the next level with our Games, Games, Games course. Students should come to this course with a solid understanding of HTML & CSS, as we’ll be focusing on diving deeper into JavaScript. We’ll add a healthy dose of JavaScript & jQuery to your coding toolkit while building dynamic & interactive web-based games. If you’re interested in becoming a better coder, building games to play against your friends, or just want to have some fun, this course is for you!

What's an average day like?
An average day at Codebug is fun and challenging! We've put together a daily schedule so you can get a glimpse into the life of a Codebug student.

Is coding experience necessary?
Who are the instructors?
We offer courses for all levels of coding experience! Our beginner courses require no prior coding experience! We also offer courses for returning students or more experienced coders. We are excited about piloting our online learning platform to host our brand-new 2021 curriculum! As always, we keep our class sizes small, and our multi-level instruction ensures that lessons are accessible yet challenging for everyone.
Those enrolled in the Summer 2020 courses will be taught by our founders Sarah and McArthur. Sarah's 4 years as a certified math teacher, combined with her time as a professional software developer, allow her to stand out in the world of coding teachers. McArthur has over 9 years of software development experience, so the Summer 2020 Codebuggers are in good hands!
