Course Description

This 2-week virtual course culminates in a capstone project where everyone builds their own professional website highlighting their talents and/or interests. Through project-based curriculum, you will gain an understanding of the core languages of Web Development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery). Whether you are applying for a job, starting a blog, or even starting your own business, building a professional website is a valuable step along the way!

Prerequisite:

None! If you’ve never done any coding, we’ll get you up and running quickly! If you do have experience coding, that’s fine too. Our lessons have extensions so that everyone is challenged. 

Supplies Needed:

A computer (MacBook, PC, Chromebook – any will do) with access to the internet. We’ll be using Zoom for our virtual class, so having a webcam, microphone, and a quiet place will help!

What's an average day like?

An average day at Codebug is fun and challenging! We've put together a daily schedule so you can get a glimpse into a Codebug session.

Do we need our own computer?

Yes. You will need a computer (MacBook, PC, Chromebook, etc) with connection to the internet. We’ll be using Zoom for our virtual class, so having a webcam, microphone, and a quiet place will help! 

Is coding experience necessary?

Who are the instructors?

Those enrolled in the Summer 2020 courses will be taught by our founders Sarah and McArthur. Sarah's 4 years as a certified math teacher, combined with her time as a professional software developer, allow her to stand out in the world of coding teachers. McArthur has over 9 years of software development experience, so the Summer 2020 Codebuggers are in good hands!
